PLP FibreformX Cross Arms Ready for Field Trial

Five of the new generation PLP FibreformX cross arms have been prepared and are ready to ship to Energex for field trial.  The new generation cross arms contain interesting innovations to increase both the strength and longevity of the cross arms whilst extending field life by using a completely hollow section.  The hollow section allows the inside of the cross arm to completely vent and dry after rain, a feature designed to reduce the possibility of blooming.

Designed for the high volume LV market,  the product is now market ready and can be drilled in any pattern to suit individual requirements.  The composite glass is laid in such a way as to permit self tapping hex head screws to be inserted as though screwing into timber.  This will appeal to authorities wishing to mount hardware from the arms.  The sky blue colour has met with mixed reaction from the market and so whilst initial quantities will be in the pure sky blue colour, a paler shade will be available in subsequent production runs.
