SSD Field Trial
After many months of working with Victorian Utilities and the Office of the Chief Electrical Inspector, Preformed Line Products conducted the first field trials of the Safety Service Disconnector in conjunction with Alinta (Victorian Utility).
These trials took place in Morabbin and surrounding areas with a total of 100 Units installed. As with any new product released by Preformed Line Products, there was a complete training package provided to all people involved in the installation.
The installation of the SSD was carried out on both new installations and retrofitting to existing services. These field trials have gone exceedingly well.
Further field trials are planned with other utilities for the coming months.
