Turnkey Substation Anchors

Preformed Line Products has been manufacturing full, turnkey, integrated substation systems since 2000. Our long history in supplying quality high voltage hardware and fittings gave a solid foundation for our advancement into substation system supply. Customers can be well assured the manufacturing quality and engineering backup synonymous with PLP products applies equally to our substations.

Our engineering team have helped design turnkey substation packages and components ranging from 22kV to 500kV. Their involvement in the process from design and estimation, right up to final manufacture, guarantees a high quality engineered product.

PLP substation fi ttings are designed with the installation contractor in mind. As much work as practical is completed in house prior to shipping to site. Fully prefabricated systems have been installed which eliminated the need for on site welding, the fully bolted system having obvious advantages. Installation of the system is simplifi ed by provision of a marked up site layout drawing with all bar locations clearly noted.

Our product range caters to all standard tube sizes including 80, 100, 125, 160 and 200mm diameters with wall sections from 3 to 12 mm. The growth in demand for PLP substation systems lead to the recent addition to our Glendenning facility of a 30m busbar welding bay.

The new bay includes MIG and TIG in both steel and aluminium operated by qualifi ed welders approved by all local EHV authorities. It also allows us to handle busbars up to 16m long, ordered in single lengths from the tube manufacturer, at the limits of normal road freight.

Full package supply orders are commonly requested from us. In one shipment we can supply all:
- fittings for the overhead strung bus including terminations, spacers, jumper and dropper terminals and steel hardware.
- compression terminals for the flexible bus connecting the transformers, CVT’s and disconnectors, etc to the system.
- busbar roller and fixed supports including fasteners for the whole system.
- fully fabricated busbars with bonded dampening conductor, terminal palms and support fittings.
