PLP-a growing success in Asia

Over the last 2 1/2 years PLP Australia has invested a sizeable effort in the development of it's Asian markets. In spite of the Asian Economic crisis, PLP continued to look for new opportunities and customers. One of the primary strategies is to introduce our philosophies on quality product, solid relationship and partnership to power and telecommunications companies in Asia.

As the region has recovered PLP has been positioned to prove to the user the benefits of  working with a company that can provide high quality products, top level service and support and a positive can do attitude. Initially projects were small due to the lack of funding for large projects and the desire of customers to prove the overall strategy of working with a company like PLP. As the region recovers PLP is developing an extended customer base with a regular inflow of business from new and existing customers. Products have been ordered for exported in the last year, through various channels, to countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, China, India, Japan and the Philippines.

One example of PLP's partnership building is the signing last year of a Strategic Alliance Agreement with Tenaga Cable Industries of Malaysia. The relationship between our companies provides our customers with a full turnkey package of products for  OPGW and other power line projects in Malaysia. PLP staff work closely with TCI personnel to provide constructive solutions to meet many of Malaysia's localized conditions. The planning is to localize manufacturing where possible bringing benefit to the local economy and building PLP's presence in the region. PLP Australia's commitment to our export markets builds on our strong local presence in Australia and provides for growth for the company and Australian exports.
